CalendarPal Desktop Calendar Editor's Review

Keep your schedule close and keep an eye on the weather with this handy system tray utility.

I live and die by my calendar. When it's wrong, I'm in the wrong place at the wrong time. When I don't have the right information or my calendar is not up to date, everything is thrown off.

A mom with a busy set of young children, a busy student, or a busy business man...everyone can benefit from CalendarPal. It’s a personal desktop calendar and organizer for Windows systems.

You can use CalendarPal to organize your schedule, to keep track of events, to create daily notes, or to create reminders, "To Do" lists and more. CalendarPal integrates directly with the AccuWeather weather service and puts your local weather right on your calendar and in your system tray. You can add daily notes, reminders and alarms, view your local weather; and browse from year to year and month to month easily. CalendarPal makes working with your schedule fun.  You can use tons of different themes, to change the look and feel of your calendar and more. CalendarPal will let you set Reminders, chose your alert, and display on your calendar. You can add and edit events, holidays and recurring celebrations or events.

Always accessible in your system tray, CalendarPal will show you a 5-day forecast on demand. You will also have access to Instant Weather Alerts, via the AccuWeather system for most U.S. locations.

Pros: AccuWeather integration, themes, US Holidays.

Cons: Doesn't integrate with Outlook or other office suites.

Conclusion: If you're looking for basic calendar and reminder features and don't plan on using the calendar features of your default e-mail program or your web-based mail provider's calendar, then CalendarPal is a decent choice.  However, at $20 USD, it's about as expensive as we'd pay for an application of this type. Without office suite integration, or even support for Hotmail, Yahoo! Or Gmail/Google Apps, this standalone program won't go very far for you.
